Miriam, Sister of Moses
Second half of the XVIII century. Not on display
In the centre of the composition, Miriam plays the drum. Next to her, other girls dance and play instruments in front of others who watch them. In the background, Moses stands on an eminence. The drawing is a copy of a composition by Luca Giordano, undoubtedly a companion piece to David and Abigail (D000679). The Prado canvas of the same subject (P000159) is a different composition.
