Saint Joseph and the Christ Child
XVII century.Not on display
Saint Joseph holds the hand of the Christ Child. They appear in a landscape, in front of a large tree. The scene is set in a mock architectural frame and bordered by Corinthian columns, as if it were housing an altarpiece.
Wethey considers it a poor copy of the drawing D00074; María Elena Gómez-Moreno considers the shading technique and the depiction of the hair as close to Pacheco.
Martínez Chumillas relates it to the small altarpiece of Saint Joseph that Palomino mentions in San Ginés of Madrid.
