Two Hands
1769.Not on display
This is a study of hands depicted as resting, joined, and on the chest. This is probably a preparatory drawing for the figure of the Virgin in Pentecost in the Church of San Pascual in Aranjuez, painted alongside its related episodes (Annunciation, Nativity and Ascension) in 1769 and no longer extant. The position of the hands coincides with the sketches in the Grases Collection and in the Dupont Collection, both in Barcelona.
