Reframing the Prado: "Mercury and Argus" by Velázquez Thursday, December 1, 2022

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of American Express Foundation, American Friends is proud to support Reframing the Prado, an ongoing project that addresses preservation and improvements to frames in the Museo del Prado. 

The project began in 2019 with the reframing of The Spinners or The Fable of Aracne by Velázquez. This second edition of Reframing the Prado provides for the technical study and improved framing for the following works: 

Mercury and Argus by Velázquez 
Hippomenes and Atalanta by Guido Reni 
Annunciation by the Master of Sopetran
Nativity by the Master of Sopetran
